Women are constantly being ridiculed : Petition filed by a lady to stop airing last Episode of Pakistani Drama “Meray Pas Tum Ho”.

The latest episode of the famous drama serial “Meray Pas Tum Ho” will be aired or not? The matter has reached to the Civil Court .

A petition has been filed to stop the final episode of the famous drama serial “Meray Pas Tum Ho” from being broadcast on which the court issued notice to the parties on January 24 and sought response. Notices were issued on behalf of drama serial director Nadeem Baig, producer Humayun Saeed, writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar, CEO of ARY Digital, chairman of PEMRA and chairman of Punjab Censorship Board. Advocate Abdul Majid Chaudhry, a lawyer for a girl named Maham, appeared and took the stand that the women were constantly humiliated in the play.

Maham filed a petition in Civil Court to stop the final episode of famous drama Meray Pas Tum ho. The petitioner argued that the drama is insulting women since its inception .

There is an attempt to make women less visible in society; the drama within Pakistani women has not produced positive results. It is requested that the court order that the final episode of the play be stopped from airing.

Pakistani Entertainment industry is already facing serious threats from religious clerics and a chunk of liberals feminist, both ideologist are not ready to bear each other. This fight between the religious parties was seen recently in Movie Tamasha , which government banned to air due to the pressure of a religious party. There is a clear divide among society on the central idea of the drama which is shown in social media tweets.

On the flip side a small chunk of liberals including feminist were commenting against Meray Pas Tum Ho drama as the story is against a women dignity. The writer has clarified his position at various occasions by pointing that he is highlighting a social evil and this drama is not against any gender. But recently a big debate started in mainstream media either the drama is against women dignity or not. A series of talk shows have been done in this connection which has sparked a debate on social media as well.

The supporters are declaring the drama a lesson for the society and affirming that the story is totally indicating a social evil which must be addressed in drama’s.
