Audi: a new Q5 55 TFSI e quattro … with 40 km of autonomy in “full electric”

Audi unveils a new version of its Q5 SUV, with a hybrid engine offering a range of 40 km in “full electric”.

For this, the Q5 55 TFSI e Quattro (this is his name) will be equipped with a TFSI 2.0L block and an electric motor of 143 hp.

The Audi Q5 also in rechargeable hybrid mode

A few weeks ago, Audi confirmed the “rechargeable hybrid” version of its Q5, A6, A7 and A8. Today, the German manufacturer officializes its brand new Q5 55 TFSI e Quattro, a model that combines a TFSI 2.0L block of 252 hp to a block of 143 hp (a total power of 367 hp).

The engine and splitter clutch are integrated in the seven-speed S Tronic gearbox, which uses “Ultra” technologies to transfer torque to the quattro transmission. This new model is the first vehicle to be equipped with an all-wheel drive with Ultra technology combined with an electric motor.

According to Audi: “The intelligent control of the all-wheel drive system works in a predictive way, thanks to sensors and continuous analysis of the collected data on driving dynamics and driver behavior”.

The new Q5 55 TFSI e Quattro lithium-ion battery is located under the trunk. It consists of 104 prismatic cells and stores 14.1 kWh of energy with a voltage of 381 volts. According to the manufacturer, the range, in “all electric” mode, is more than 40 km, with a maximum speed (always in all-electric mode) of 135 km / h.

Sports Look:

Despite its “hybrid” side, the new Q5 55 TFSI e Quattro has a generous list of standard equipment: LED headlights, sport seats, four-zone automatic temperature control, practical key, DIS with color display, displays Specific rechargeable electric hybrid, 18 “forged five-arm rims … Also, the rear seats can be moved longitudinally and the angle of the backrest can be adjusted.

Sporty details in the S Line exterior pack contribute to the vehicle’s dynamic look: front and rear S Line bumpers, a double rear diffuser and the now famous Audi Singleframe grille, with several dark chrome elements.

Of course, the model can be charged to a domestic outlet (in about six hours), but it is also compatible with Audi’s e-tron Charging Service.
