BMW introduced 720 hp Power BEV Power Concept fully electric car:
Relations June 27, 2020 0 COMMENTSAs part of its event #NEXTGen, BMW has formalized a new test vehicle 100% electric … more than 720 hp!
With this new Power BEV vehicle, based on a BMW 5 Series, the manufacturer wants to demonstrate what is technically possible with electric technology.
An overpowering experimental vehicle
With regard to its Power BEV, BMW’s aim was to “build an experimental vehicle that marks the spirits not only by its longitudinal dynamics, but also by its lateral dynamics”. A fast car in a straight line, but also very comfortable in tight turns.
BMW has therefore announced close collaboration between the chassis and engine engineers, and this is reflected (among other things) by the presence of two electric motors on the rear axle, which are ordered separately. Added to this is a front-wheel-mounted engine, not to mention a limited-slip differential.
720 HP power (electric)
The vehicle is equipped with three fifth-generation electric powertrains and develops a maximum power of more than 720 hp (530 kW). On the road, this allows it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in less than three seconds.
BMW specifies that an electric motor of this type will make its series debut on the future BMW iX3. However, the latter will however have only one engine instead of three.
According to BMW, “the integration of such a drive system into a production car represents a technical feat, and it was carried out without any restriction of space for passengers”. In this way, in future serial vehicle projects, it will be possible to adapt the choice of technology to each model.
