US-led coalition denies attacking an Iranian supported militia camp

Colonel Myles B Caggins, spokesman for Operation Inherent Resolution, said the coalition “has NOT carried out air strikes near Camp Taji (north of Baghdad) in recent days.” Both the group of Iraqi Shiite militias called Popular Mobilization Forces, and Iraqi state television claimed that the airstrikes had taken place and were carried out by the United States. Tehran’s allied group said that none of its senior officers died in the attack, but confirmed that there were deaths and injuries.
An American official who spoke on condition of anonymity told the AP that his country did not carry out the attack.
